The Hot Springs/Village Symphony Guild, Inc., is a charitable, educational and cultural, non-profit 501 C (3) organization working for the community since its founding in 1985. It is the largest not-for-profit in the Village and at some 1,500 members, one of the largest musical support groups in the nation.
It is The Guild’s Mission:
* To present and foster an appreciation of fine music in our community;
* To support and promote the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra; and
* To support and encourage music education for young people in the Hot Springs area.
Through a member-elected Board of Directors, the Guild presents a broad selection of professional musical concerts during the year, several of which are complimentary for members. The programs range from intimate Dinner Cabarets to full orchestral concerts at Woodlands Auditorium. The Guild supports the ASO with financial and promotional assistance as well as scholarships to the four ASO Youth Orchestras. It supports music education for area students by providing college scholarships and gifts to area school music departments, for band and choral camps, music equipment, supplies and in-school programs.
Membership dues are a modest $15 a year; half of which goes directly to the ASO. Concert proceeds, grants and personal and corporate contributions provide significant other income. Virtually every dollar received in dues and contributions is recycled as charitable gifts to others; an annual outlay unmatched by any other area organization.
