The Village Strings was founded in 1994 by the late Sig Bjorkman.  For many years it consisted of just two violins, viola, cello, double bass and piano.  Currently, the group boasts five violins, two violas, cello and piano and is under the very capable direction of Wade Alexander.  We play a wide variety of classical and light classical music, Broadway show tunes and popular music.

Many of the members resumed their musical “careers” after retirement, having put their instruments in mothballs following graduation from high school!  Their dreams of once more being able to make beautiful music have finally come to fruition, thanks to the Strings.

We enjoy playing for many gatherings, be they luncheons, cocktail parties or special events.  If you would like us to play for your event, or if you think you would be interested in joining us, call Mary Kay Latick, 922-9297, or Kit Edscorn, 922-9245.
